TEHRAN PUTS WASHINGTON IN AN PREDICAMENT
After almost six days of having promised reprisals against Iran's proxies that attacked American bases in the Middle East, the United States finally started with those retaliatory attacks today. These are limited actions in terms of the number of objectives. They don't reach any target of strategic value but predominantly symbolic ones. Terrorist targets are elusive by nature. The United States put into action B-1B strategic bombers and has ships armed with Tomahawk missiles and carrier-based aircraft. All that is insufficient for the conflict that is unfolding. Let's not forget that the Houthi rebels are far from being neutralized, we will have to see what their reaction will be in the face of the American attacks. None of these bombings will really manage to neutralize the head of that octopus that is Iran. A direct attack on that country, we believe, is unthinkable. Whatever is achieved will be of primarily symbolic and propagandistic importance. It is possible that Benjamin Netanyahu had something to do with these attacks.
A collateral victim of the conflict in the Middle East is Ukraine, which - increasingly lacking support from Washington - sees how slowly but inexorably Russian forces are advancing on its territory along the entire front line, particularly in the Kharkiv region, which will serve to generate a security zone between Ukrainian territory and properly Russian territory. With growing internal conflicts between Zelensky and the commanders of his armed forces, the Ukrainian president's political stability is minimal. Without the support of the United States, the chances of military success are becoming less and less, as a matter of fact, they have almost completely disappeared. The Russians are probably just waiting for someone to be willing to sit down at the negotiating table.
Paradoxically, none of these conflicts attracts the attention of the American public any more. They are now aware of their own vulnerability on the southern border that is beginning to be perceived as a place of great insecurity for the sovereignty of the United States. This is not how the government of Joe Biden sees it. The White House is generatinf even more conflict with the governor of Texas, who has the support of all the Republican States. Many citizens find it difficult to understand that the borders of the allied countries are more important than their own. This, far from strengthening Biden in the face of the upcoming elections, further weakens his image that is falling day by day. After a very likely change of government, it will take years, if not a few decades, for the United States to regain its leadership position in the West and in the world in general.
